Hard Truths: Building a Lash Biz With ADHD & Anxiety
Share
I was never trying to be someone else.
I just wanted to be me.
But for the longest time, it felt like the only space I could fully show up as that version of me — the real, raw, honest one — was in the treatment room with my clients.
That version of me?
She was never too much.
She was just right.
But in the world of ecommerce and education, everything felt harder. Not because I wasn’t confident… but because I didn’t know how to translate myself into that space.
The Fear Behind the Scenes
When you care as much as I do, fear doesn’t always shout — it whispers.
I started questioning everything:
- Am I good enough?
- Will clients come back?
- Did I say too much? Was I too blunt?
- I felt like I had to reply to messages within five minutes or I’d lose that student, that order, that moment.
And underneath all that?
Was a quieter fear — that maybe I wasn’t really liked. That maybe I didn’t belong in this version of the beauty industry.
ADHD Doesn’t Just Make You Forget Things — It Makes You Feel Everything
Living with ADHD and anxiety doesn’t always look like chaos.
Sometimes it’s overthinking a caption.
Replaying a DM.
Holding back from launching something because your brain gave you 27 new ideas and you actioned none.
I wanted freedom.
I craved flexibility.
But without structure, I spiralled into indecision — not because I didn’t care, but because I cared too much.
You’re Not Broken — You Just Work Differently
ADHD is my superpower — but it’s also a challenge.
It’s why I connect deeply.
Why I create obsessively.
Why I show up fully.
But it’s also why I burn out fast.
Why I overthink everything.
Why I’ve spent years wondering if the way I work is wrong.
Spoiler: It’s not.
You don’t need to water yourself down to be taken seriously.
You just need to trust that the right people will connect with who you really are.
This is Me. And Maybe It’s You Too.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re too much — too loud, too honest, too scattered — you’re not alone.
You’re not too much.
You’re not behind.
You’re not failing.
You’re building something real with a brain that doesn’t follow a straight line. And that is your edge.
This space — everything I create — is for people like us.
The ones who feel deeply.
Who create differently.
Who are learning to stop apologising and start showing up.
Exactly as we are.
Because that’s more than enough.
